Ashford Choral Society has a membership of some 130 singers, and traditionally gives three to four concerts each season, during the period September to April/May. Each year there is an opportunity to perform some of the major works in the choral repertoire together with leading soloists and a professional symphony orchestra. The conductor, Mark Deller, has an international reputation as a choral director, working especially with choirs in France, Belgium, Holland and South America.

Recent concerts given by the Society have included performances of Walton Belshazzar's Feast, Elgar The Kingdom, Haydn Harmoniemesse, Poulenc Gloria, Bernstein Chichester Psalms, Bach St John Passion and Beethoven Mass in C. The coming season once again offers a rich variety of musical fare with the Mozart Requiem and Haydn Mass in Time of War in the autumn session, and in February a concert that features Faure's Requiem and his popular Cantique de Jean Racine, as well as Vaughan Williams Five Mystical Songs. Then in April we shall return to the Saga Pavilion in Folkestone for a concert that includes the Dvorak Te Deum and Carl Orff's immensely popular Carmina Burana.

Come and join us, either as a performer or member of the audience; and remember, if you're under 25 it costs you nothing at all to become a member of the Society!
